Hey guys! My name is Trey and in this video I want to talk about how to stay positive and motivated when you don’t feel like doing a damn thing.
Listen guys, no one’s life is peachy. There’s isn’t a perfect relationship. We all have bills to pay. We all have shit going on in our lives that either suck us down into a couch with a pint of Ben & Jerry’s or you’re getting pie-eyed polishing off a bottle of bourbon.
You’ll have days where you have no desire, no creativity, no spark, no motivation to even get out of your sweatpants…and you stank!
Damn you stank!
But here are some tips that have helped me take control and absolutely b*tch slap my day.
Let’s get started!
1. We gotta get organized.
How much of a clutter-f*ck do you feel like when you have dishes in the sink, clean the house, pick up all the dog toys, and there’s a week’s worth of laundry to get washed?
…and I don’t mean just wash…I mean, wash, dry, fold, and you gotta actually go the extra mile and put your clothes in the closet/dresser instead of sitting in the laundry basket.
That type shit.
Don’t you feel 10x more relieved when everything is put away and just organized?
YES!! I know for parents that this is a lot easier said than done, so instead of having a house keeper that comes every day or week.
Hire someone; even your niece for like $10-$20, to come in and help release that feeling of being “caved in” when you want motivation. I think we can all agree that that’s a FABULOUS place to start!
Secondly, and you know this is coming..
I think people have this assumption that I am so amp’d to jump out of bed and immediately start working out.
No, you’re 100% wrong.
It’s so much easier to sleep in, push it off until later, and then when it becomes like 6 at night, tell myself…”nah, you ate decent today..we’ll smash it tomorrow..no one will notice.”
NOOOO!…it’s the feeling you get when it’s over. You just wrecked calories and there’s some scientific sh*t happening where you’re mood is high and you just accomplished destroying yourself for 30 minutes!
I know we like to look good, but working out isn’t all about VANITY.
Start small with walking around the block or running on a treadmill for a few minutes Whatever it is..2-3-4 months down the road you will be a totally different person.
So again, we can all agree that this is true, but we just have to do it??
3. Make goals and remind yourself daily.
We all have goals.
I have goals to be in the top 10 of the company, to travel more, to play guitar more often, so on..so what I do is use sticky notes for daily, monthly, yearly goals.
Start with your yearly goal and break that down into how you can achieve that monthly. Break your monthly goal down into how you can achieve that weekly. Then what simple daily goals can you set for yourself that keeps you focused on “fuck yeah, I just man-handled today’s goal” instead of the big scary goal at the end of the year?
There’s a damn good feeling about taking that sticky note and throwing it into the garbage when you’re done
…and you’re reiterating to yourself “I am all that is man.”
Your vibes don’t lie.
So these are just a few of my tips on how stay positive and motivated when you don’t feel like doing a damn thing.
